Cormorant Gets Its Close-Up

I did use a little bit of a zoom when I took this picture, but I'm still fairly close to cormorant. Why the bird is calmly watching me as I keep paddling around and snapping pictures is an utter mystery. Photo taken while kayaking the Charles River on Sunday, July 27, 2008. (Photo by Lizbeth Marcs)
